Did you know that the EU does its utmost to prohibit our right to use food supplements? If the EU gets its way through, vitamins and minerals will be banned altogether.
Did you know that the EU does its utmost to ban vitamins and minerals and supplements ? The EU wants to harmonize the rules for food supplements within the EU to ”protect consumers of food supplements against serious health risks and ensure that these products do not contain misleading information”. What a nice thought from EU. EU has made lists of the vitamins and minerals that can be sold in the EU. If any food supplements are not included in the EU lists, they may not be sold. But do not worry – everything is for our own sake.
On June 10, 2002, the EU wrote through Directive 2002/46 / EC. There you can read the following:
”NATIONAL PROVISIONS ON HEALTH COST DOES AFFECT THE MARKET NEGATIVE”
” There is an increasing number of products marketed in the Community as foods containing concentrated sources of nutrients and presented for supplementing the intake of those nutrients from the normal diet. Those products are regulated in Member States by differing national rules that may impede their free movement, create unequal conditions of competition, and thus have a direct impact on the functioning of the internal market. It is therefore necessary to adopt Community rules on those products marketed as foodstuffs”.
”ONLY FOOD SUPPLEMENTS APPROVED BY EU CAN BE SOLD”
”As a first stage, this Directive should lay down specific rules for vitamins and minerals used as ingredients of food supplements. Food supplements containing vitamins or minerals as well as other ingredients should also be in conformity with the specific rules on vitamins and minerals laid down in this Directive. Only vitamins and minerals normally found in, and consumed as part of, the diet should be allowed to be present in food supplements although this does not mean that their presence therein is necessary. Controversy as to the identity of those nutrients that could potentially arise should be avoided. Therefore, it is appropriate to establish a positive list of those vitamins and minerals”.
”Excessive intake of vitamins and minerals may result in adverse effects and therefore necessitate the setting of maximum safe levels for them in food supplements, as appropriate. Those levels must ensure that the normal use of the products under the instructions of use provided by the manufacturer will be safe for the consumer”.
”SUPERVISION AGENCIES CONTROLS HEALTH COST SELLERS”
”Given the particular nature of food supplements, additional means to those usually available to monitoring bodies should be available in order to facilitate efficient monitoring of those products.upper safe levels of vitamins and minerals established by scientific risk assessment based on generally accepted scientific data, taking into account, as appropriate, the varying degrees of sensitivity of different consumer groups”.
FORBIDDEN TO SAY THAT FOOD SUPPLEMENTS CAN PREVENT OR CURE DISEASES
”The labelling, presentation and advertising must not attribute to food supplements the property of preventing, treatingor curing a human disease, or refer to such properties.
The labelling, presentation and advertising of food supplements shall not include any mention stating or implying that a balanced and varied diet cannot provide appropriate quantities
of nutrients in general.Member States shall bring into force the laws, regulations andadministrative provisions necessary to comply with this Directive by 31 July 2003. They shall forthwith inform the Commission thereof”.
EUROPEAN UNIONS TRYING OF BANNING NUTRIENTS AND FOOD SUPPLEMENTS
The European Unions has been working for two decades trying stopping and forbidding nutrients and food supplements within EU. Here in Sweden different agencies take sellers of health products into court since the sellers doses are not ”compatible with EU-regulations”. The Swedish government has made it very expensive to register homepathic products because the European Union have wanted them to do so. It’s forbidden to say that C-vitamins can be good for curing a cold – if you don’t have an approved health claim from EFSA. Isn’t that a nice censorship? To get your food supplements apporved bu EU is an extremly expensive process and is in fact impossible.
What is the goal of the European Union regarding food supplements? EU wants to ban all food supplements and they want to get rid of all alternative medicine such as Chinece Medicin, Ayurveda etc. And they want to implement the dictatorship of Big Pharma with all its poisons. Also have in mind the free trade agreements that the EU-commission wants to implement without our consent. Free trade agreements like CETA or TTIP is a deathblow to anything exept big companies. The free trade agreements will try to eliminate alternaitve medicin and food supplements. Thanks for that European Union.
ALLIANCE FOR NATURAL HEALTH
There is one group that one definitely should support and that group is Alliance for Natural Health – ANH. ANH is run by Dr. Robert Verkerk. ANH has been working for years to try to stop the European Unions trying of banning food supplements and alternative medicin. You can read on their own homepages what they have achieved. They have taken the European Union to court just to fight for food supplements and nutritiens within EU. Alliance for Natural Health relies only on donations. I have made a donation myself and I recommend you to do the same. I also recommend listening to Ian Cranes lecture on Codex Alimentarius. Codex Alimentarius from United Nations is the big threat to food supplements.
In the video below the ANH talks about their work to stop EU from banning food supplements.
Swexit – yes please!
